In this lecture, we build AI Agents from first principles and understand what actually makes an LLM capable of taking actions.
We start with a simple question: if an LLM can generate code, why can’t it actually create a file, check the weather, send an email, or interact with a database by itself?
That takes us into one of the most important concepts in modern AI applications — Tools and Tool Calling.
We first give our LLM simple capabilities like a calculator, live weather and currency conversion. Then we see how the model can choose the correct tool, call multiple tools for a single request, observe their results and decide what to do next.
Finally, we take everything we’ve learned and build a real AI Website Builder Agent using Spring AI that can create directories, write files, read its own work and build complete websites from a simple natural-language prompt.
