What if the next breakthrough for human health, climate resilience, or clean energy isn’t waiting to be found in nature. What if it’s waiting to be designed? Today, we’re launching AI BioDesign, a new accelerator from the Allen Institute in collaboration with UW Medicine and Fred Hutch, with support from Fund for Science and Technology.
AI BioDesign harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and experimental biology to explore what biology could become: new proteins, genes, and biological systems beyond what evolution has already produced. The Seattle-based research initiative leverages the combined expertise of global leaders in bioscience, innovation, and technology.
This is biology beyond evolution: an open, experimentally grounded effort to design tools for problems we cannot yet solve.
